January 18th, 2005:
The Me-Thinks are still cigarette free and it fucking sucks! Just like the band Cinderella said..."You don't know what ya got till it's gone". Cigarettes I miss you,
but if the law of averages is correct, we will meet again.
On the flipside, we will be able to buy more Beer, Whisky and Dwarf Conjoined-Twin Hookers (what's up Robin and Terry!) with all the money we are saving from not smoking. This might not be that bad of a deal.
I heard a rumor that the Asian Media Crew might not be as media-less
as they were last week. If they show up, try and help their drunk
asses keep from losing or breaking another video camera. And speaking
of the Asian Media Crew, be on the lookout for some short movies
coming soon to the site courtesy of Asian Media Crew Productions.
We are currently under a strenuous workout of Liver Push-Ups and 16oz curls getting ready for our show on Friday the 21st. We did kinda forgot to practice the music
though, but hey, thems the breaks and we pass that along to you. We apologize in advance. Either way it'll be a good goddamn time.
Don't miss the January 21st show at the Wreck with Goodwin and the Rockland Eagles.

January 4th, 2005:
Well...Happy New Year Muthafuckas! I hope nobody got thrown in the klink or had anything bad happen to them on amatuer night...I mean New Years Eve.
That's gotta be the worst night to be out and about because the fuzz is just waiting for you to fuck up and not get your inspection taken care of so they
can pull your ass over and drink your beers. Our guitar player, Marlin, will gladly add you to the list of people he keeps an eye on when their inspection or
registration is out on your car. He says it's just an easy way for the "man" to find a reason to find out if your drunk or not. He are smart cuz he just graduated
college. So when you see him, congratulate him on finishing up his 14 and a half years of higher education.
I also have a very special Me-Thinks announcement to make. We've all gone sissy! Yes it's true. For the first time in our massive 4 year exsistence, all three of us
have kicked our nicotine habit. This is ground breaking shit going down. I am going to have to gargle with broken glass to keep my voice sounding as shitty as ever without
the awesome power of burning chemicals and paper to do it for me. Maybe I'll just mix beer with milk before we play so I can get that phlemy tone I so desire. At any rate...we're all just
half sissies because I really don't see us quitting any of our other vices in the near future. Rest assured. And if things get really bad we can always take hits right out
of the smoke machine.
Don't miss the January 21st show at the Wreck with Goodwin and the Rockland Eagles.

December 21st, 2004:
Well for those of you that didn't make it out Experience the Art of Music show last Saturday you missed an all day of a good goddamn time!
Got to meet a host of people we've never met before and a lot of them were buying us shots to boot! Cheers to you...you know who you are. I know when I woke up the next day I didn't really recall to much but I knew I had a good time.
Then as the day went on I started to remember things...people reminded me of things...thoughts came rushing back into my head. Jesus I was jacked. I think I speak for the whole band when I say this but we had a pretty good time from what we remember.
And it was for charity! We're givers.
Seriously serious though it was fun and I hope we are invited back to do it again next year.
We have another show coming up in a few weeks with our old pals Goodwin and the Rockland Eagles from Austin. The show
is at the Wreck Room on Friday January 21st. Be there or suckle up to your mother's nipple ya sissies! We're not GG Allin for crying out loud! No one...in the band, on a good night, if you buy them a drink...is gonna throw
a turd at you! Why would you stay away?

December 9th, 2004:
Come out to the Experience the Art
of Music next Saturday at the Axis in Fort Worth. The show stars
at 4:00pm and goes until 2 in the morning. We play around 9:25 but
make it out early to catch some of the bands that play before us.
Hell, stay late too and catch the bands after us. All in all it's
going to be us, Collin Herring, John Price, Engine of the Ocean,
Velvet Love Box, Alan, Chatterton, Horses, Darth Vato and Pablo
and the Hemphill 7. It should be a really good, all day show with
artists, spoken word and music. If you miss it, you SUCK...sure
as the sun rises.
Dimebag is dead (Shred in Peace) and Celine Dion still walks this mortal Earth. Now kids, if that doesn't
show you how fucked up the human race is, I don't know what will. Why don't any of these assasins kill
people we would all be better off without? Just think, John Lennon could still be around making music and the overexposed Paris Hilton could be taking a dirt nap.
Don't forget to stop by the Wreck Room or the Torch and drop off gloves, hats, scarves and socks for the needy. They are going to be giving this stuff away
with the good people down at Fred's (who happen to make the best cheeseburger in town) on December 23rd so get em in before then.

November 15th, 2004:
It is with great sadness and an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness that I come to you today with.
It's been a tough weekend for all of us and it's hard to get this news out to you, but I feel it is our duty
to do so. I don't really know how to candy-coat it for you but I will do my best. Here goes...
Russell Tyrone Jones otherwise known Ol'
Dirty Bastard, Big Baby Jesus, Dirt Dog, Debt-Low, Dirt McGirt, Joe Banannas, and Osirius is dead.
I know it's going to be tough to get through the next few days,
but we have to be strong. We have to do what O.D.B. would have wanted
us to do and that's to keep on keeping on.
On the lighter side of things we have been working on our Double EP and if we can keep from recording over the tracks
we'll be finished in no time. We were working on Speedhair the other night and recorded all the basic tracks. It was sounding
really good and dirty until we lost all of the tracks. I know drinking and recording don't necessarily go together, but in our case there is just
no way around that. We have since re-tracked Speedhair and I think it came out even better then before. I guess everything happens for a reason.
We are still on for the "Experience the Art of Music" show on Saturday, December 18th as well. We'll give you more info as we get it.
Right now I know there are a bunch of good bands lined up to play the show. It starts earlier in the afternoon and goes all night.
We should be on right around 10 or so, but come out early and stay late because there will be plenty of kick-ass rock and roll besides
us. See you there and don't forget to pour out a little of your 40oz. tonight for our dead homey. R.I.P. O.D.B.

October 20th, 2004:
Hey kiddies sorry for the lag in updates. We have been busy working on our Double EP, EP.
Things are moving along. Slow but steady. We also have some new tunes in the works which are way over due.
It seems like we had the same set, just rearranged, for like the last 5 shows, so we are doing our best to write some new stuff
to debut at the next show.
And speaking of next shows...the next show we have lined up is
the "Experence the Art of Music" show at the new Axis in Fort Worth.
I haven't been there yet, but I am going to check it out at the
Sleepytime Gorilla
Museum / Yeti show on
the 26th of October. I heard it has a kick ass sound system and
is a respectable joint. The "Experience the Art of Music" show will
be an all day thing on Saturday the 18th of December with bands
and artists performing and doing their things starting in the mid
afternoon. More details to come but from what I have been told we
are playing with Horses, Pablo
and the Hemphill 7, Darth
Vato, and many others so keep checking back for details.

September 20th, 2004:
Sorry folks (this means you matt roth) I haven't been a good web
updaterer or whatever. We've been a little busy trying not to be
busy. Staying underground is hard work these days. truth is we've
been real lucky to get some kick-ass shows and I really wanted to
thank everyone one who came out to our last show with Nebula and
Yeti. We had a great time. We got to play first so we weren't as
shit-canned drunk as we usually are when we play. Yeti was totally
laying to waste all those that stood before them. Those guys get
better every time I see em. It was finally good to play with them
and we plan to do it again when they get back from their tour of
the west. The Nebula guys were totally cool. Real down to earth
fellas and they totally rocked the Wreck for a good hour at least.
Not bad for 7 bucks! If you missed it, what can I say, your fucking
lame and you missed one hell of a good show.
In other news...we are trudging ahead with our "Double EP" and
Simultaniously working on the Napolean Complex "Epic Butler" EP.
Hopefully we can do a Napolean Complex/Me-Thinks show in the future. Napolean Complex is another totally mysterious Haltom City band we are real tight with...real tight!
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more news. Also We have some Me-Thinks/Brant Bjork pictures coming soon.

August 20th, 2004:
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to everyone that came out on the 9th for the Brant Bjork show. It was really great to see
that many people out (especially at one of our shows) on a Monday night. It was more than we expected and we were pleasantly surprised at the turn-out.
BB & the Bros seemed to enjoy Fort Worth and it's world famous hospitality and Fort Worth seemed to enjoy some Rock and Role' from the master of low rider rock.
The Fabulous Badasses were, well, fabulous. I had been wanting to catch them for a while and they didn't disappoint. Go see em next time they roll through.
Don't forget...September 4th...Wreck Room...Nebula...Yeti...and the Me-Thinks. Labor day weekend son!
|
|
August 2nd, 2004:
We just got confirmation this weekend, while up at the Wreck, that
we will be playing a real sweet-ass show coming up. We will be opening
for Yeti and Nebula
on Saturday September 4th at the Wreck Room! That's Labor Day weekend I believe. Stay tuned for more details.
We are also playing the Brant
Bjork and the Bros show coming up next Monday the 9th of August with the Fabulous Badasses.
You HAVE to come out and help us convey the message that Fort Worth
kills Dallas in the face when it comess to a good old fashioned
good time.

July 27th, 2004:
Just added some classic oldies but goodies in the Dumb-Shit
section. Gotta a classic XXX Rated 3's Company animation I found
years ago. Go play it and have some fun. Also I have added this
old time killer of a game. Your a bartender (home-sweet-home) and
you have to keep these rabid drunks full of booze and not break
any glasses. Since it's in some kinda Scandinavian or something,
I'll give you some clues: Space bar= Serve Beer, Arrow Keys=Up &
Down. Now put off work and kill some time here.

July 23rd, 2004:
No new news really except for the fact our amps have grown. Come
out to the Brant Bjork/Me-Thinks/Fabulous Badasses
show on Monday August the 9th at the Wreck Room and you will witness
Domination through Amplification. Both Marlin and I have up'd the
ante and added more power and more speakers! We might even have
a new tune by then too.
Please don't let the Monday show date scare you away. You must...I
repeat...You Must come out to the show on the 9th. If you are fans
of Kyuss or Fu Manchu please
come out and check out Brant. His music is quite different from
his previous bands but I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised
by the utter grooviness of it all.
Come Out or your Lame!

July 14th, 2004:
We are back! Fuckin' A! It's been a while but our man on the technical
side of things, Taylor from Back
in Black, got us back in business with the FTP shit. What that
means to all you non-technical people (like me) is that I can update
this site from my easy chair without ever changing my underwear...or
getting up for that matter. Expect new updates a lot more frequently.
I have some excellent news and if you even looked at the splash
screen before you got here then you know. We open for Brant
Bjork and the Bros on Monday (just come out and quit your bitchin
I know it's a Monday) August 9th at the Wreck
Room. The Fabulous Badasses (great name right!) open the show.
For a Monday night you can't beat that line-up. Come out. You won't
regret seeing Brant Bjork and the Bros. Best show I have personally
have seen all year when they came through in March. We all drove
out to Dallas to see that one so I know you guys can walk down the
street for this one at the Wreck. Your totally lame if you don't!
A lot has been going on since I updated the site last. We finished up a few new songs for our upcoming Double EP. Put out Series 3 of our Inaction Figures (Super Ultra-Hot Cajun Party Ninjas).
We've made some new stickers and koozies as well. The stickers and koozies are free so get some from us when you see us. We should have plenty at the August 9th show.
Well that's enough talking for today. I'll be updateing at least once a week now so stay tuned for more tales from Haltom City.

May 13th, 2004:
We have an upcoming show with the Rio
Grande Babies at the Wreck on June 18th. Come on out and get
shitty drunk with Carl and the gang while you atch us get drunk
with Carl and the gang. We should have all kinds of new goodies.
Limited edition, summertime koozies to keep your beer cold. They're
free so just ask us for one. We are also planning on having series
3 of our crappy inaction figures. First come, first served on those.
There will only be a few so get your while they last. We haven't
decided on what series 3 will be yet. Maybe Ninjas. We should also
have some new stickers to give away as well.
Now a lot of you have repedately emailed me and told me the site hasn't updated in a while. We went over this way back on the 5th of April. We had technical problems. I was technically lazy as hell
for crying out loud! There are plenty of updates. To make it simple for all you Haltom City folk, I'm putting links right down below so you won't have to mess with that
super-scary hard-to-use navigation on the left. I hate my friends...
Downloads/MP3 - rough mix of a brand new
tune.
Downloads/flyers - some old/new flyers
added.
Photographs/Live/april 9th - new live photo
gallery from the 9th of april.
Links - buncha new links.

May 7th, 2004:
Buy Will and Ray a shot! It's their birthday today. That's right...two me-thinkers born on the same day. Coincidence...I think not.
|
|
April 5th, 2004:
First of all I have to be honest. It's not April 5th. It's actually May 13th. We have run into a few problems with
our host and our FTP capabilities. But we ain't complaining. We get this site hosted for free (Thanks Taylor) and we appreciate that.
I just had to save up a bunch of stuff to be uploaded. Shit, I'm not a good liar at all...I've been in a drunken stupor since the last time we played
and I wa just being lazy. But back to April 5th. Let's pretend it's the past in this next paragraph...
We have a show coming up at the Wreck Room on April
9th with Those Peabodies from Austin. If you haven't checked
them out you should. Total kick-ass rock and roll.
I would like to give a hearty belching huzzah to Ken Shimamoto
from the FW
Weekly for coming out to our super-secret rehersal space deep
within the great Haltom Swamps behind the Clown Burger. We were
stoked that he actually wanted to write about us and were happy
to have him. I think he had a good time. I haven't really seen him
since. I hope he didn't get lost in the swamps... At any rate, we
drank and told stories, and drank, and smoked cigarettes, and drank,
and drank, and drank. It's a wonder he even remembered what we said
or could read what he had written. But I guess that is the sign
of a pro. Although some of the facts did get a bit mixed up. But
when you mix 3 retards like us, a Fifth of Forty
Creek whisky, countless beers, and a good time...things get
a little hazy. Nothing important really and I was actually proud
to show people this article for once. As you might have guessed,
we don't get many reviews. And when we do they're bad so this was
refreshing. And not to mention Ken was a great guy and an honorary
member of our world famous Asian
Media Crew. Ken, we have your jumpsuit ready...

March 25th, 2004:
Well we made it back from the "Escape From Haltom City Tour" in
one piece. We are a little road worn and weary but it was all worth
it. We successfully played two shows in two days, put 110 miles
on the van, smoked 3 cartons of smokes, made about $50 bucks and
didn't sell a lick of Merchandise.
We have
learned a few very valuable lessons though. One: The road is fuckin
hard! Two: The Road is fuckin tough!
We did have a great time on Friday night with the Goodwin
guys. If you haven't seen them, go check them out. Besides being
a great rock band, they are super cool dudes and we always have
a good time playing shows and hanging out with them. We also had
a really good time, despite the rain and mud, at the Stone Deaf
Rock Fest. We weren't really sure if anybody would even like us,
but to our surprise, we got a lot of complimenmts and met a bunch
of cool people that day. We also got to see some really good bands
and hang out with everybody all day and night long. I don't think
there was anyone there that wasn't anything but cool and easy to
get along with. Cheers to all the bands. I wish they would have
had some food there though. By 2 in the morning we had killed half
of the Asian Media Crew
and cooked and ate Calvin. Sorry buddy...we'll miss you, but you
sure were tasty with a little bit of "Sriracha".
We are now gearing up for a summer tour of Rhode Island. We figured we would start with the smallest states and work our selves up to the big ones.
I hope we aren't getting in over our heads...
Oh yeah, and we have another show at the Wreck
Room on Friday April 9th with Those Peabodies and Les Messiuers
du Rock

March 5th, 2004:
I am pleased as punch to announce that the Me-Thinks are doing our first tour, tentitively titled "Escape from Haltom City".
Now this being our first tour, we didn't want to over-do it, so we picked some cities that really have their fingers on the music industry pulse.
If you don't see your city on the list keep checking back because we will be adding dates as needed.
Here are all the dates:
Friday, March 12th, 2004 -- Wreck Room, Fort Worth,
Texas. - with Goodwin and
Shade Seven. Click here
for the flyer.
Saturday, March 13th, 2004 -- Lone
Star Country Club, Coppell, Texas. - Stone Deaf Rock Fest with
Yeti, Graves at Sea, Southern
Gun Culture and many, many more. Click here
for the flyer.
Now we know that this tour is going to be long and brutal but we are doing this for the fans and all the people who don't
live in Haltom City or who haven't been exposed to our brand of Rock and Roll. We have an even bigger tour, being planned right now,
for late this year/early next year encompassing all the cities in the entire state of Rhode Island.
All bullshit aside...The show on the 12th with Goodwin and Shade Seven and starts at 10. We play second and be sure to stick around for Goodwin right after us.
The show on the 13th is an all day/night festival of heavy music of all kinds. We are scheduled to play the outside stage at 5:30PM. The bands start playing at 4.
Come on out and get a whole Brontosaurus's ball sack worth of bands for 5 bucks.

|
March 4th, 2004:
I just got done putting some new videos up. Remember those Public
Service Announcements at the end of the old G.I. Joe cartoon? Well
these have been slightly modified to make you laugh out loud. Go
check em out here.
|
|
February 16th, 2004:
Just letting all you fine, fine people know that there is a new
live photo gallery up in the photograph section. Or you lazy non-web-savy
Slags can click right here to check them
out.
Calvin, from the world famous Asian
Media Crew earned his paycheck by taking the shots. Buy him
a drink when you see him because he probably didn't make enough
from that night to buy his own. We pay him in Filipino Pesos and
we totally rigged his contract anyway, so have a heart and buy him
a shot.

February 9th, 2004:
I know, I know, it's been a while since we updated this page but I have been extremely busy...
getting drunk, stumbling around, misplacing the car keys and just generally being burnouts. We did however manage to fully complete
the first song for our new double EP. That's right, you heard it right...DOUBLE EP. You can call it a full length if you like,
but we call it a double EP just to be fancy. If we actually had some more money to waste, we might even put it on two discs like
those fancy double CD sets, but we ain't got much cash and will have to settle for putting them both on one CD.
The first new recorded song (Mr. Hardly Matters) was sent off to Swayzeshire, in Duvall Washington, for a quick mastering job with
Uncle Steakley so we can tell if we are doing things right riding the faders and twistin' the knobs. We're doing it all ourselves and trying
a bunch of different techniques, rooms, mics, and guitar players. I'm just foolin about the guitar players. Marlin is alive and well and doing a bang-up job.
Believe me, if he was writing this, he would be giving me and Will shit too.
We'll try and give everyone a sneak-peek at the new tune when it returns from getting pints of ale spilled and cigarettes put out on it up at
Swayzeshire. Stay tuned...

February 1st, 2004:
A weird thing happened to me the other night up at the Wreck Room. Nothing bad (I hope), but kinda weird. Here goes...
I went up to the Wreck a week or so ago, on a thursday night, to
see the Sex Slaves and Shaolin Death Squad. I was just there hanging
out solo and talking to the regulars. I had noticed Andre the sound
guy had on one of our T-shirts
(thanks Andre by the way). We gave them to a lot of the staff up
at the Wreck because their our friends and not to mention the shamless
promotion they do for us by wearing them. Any-hoo, Andre comes walking
up with a guy I had never seen before and introduces him as Jeff
and tells Jeff that I am the "guy". I shake hands with Jeff and
he tells me he is the Sex Slaves Road Manager and inquires about
the our T-Shirts. I told him I didn't have any with me but that I did have some left. That's when he dropped the bomb...
He told me he was the personal assistant to Gene Simmons from KISS and wanted to get a few t-shirts for him and Gene. I
Immediatley think the worst and say to myself "man, I thought this would take longer" considering the prospect of being
anally raped by a rabid team of KISS's lawyers and brace for the Cease and Desist letters to papercut me to death. Needless to say, but I am a little skeptical
of Jeff's motives and ask him straight up about them. He assures me that Gene is a big collector of all things KISS-like and
would really appreciate and like the t-shirts. He even told me he would gladly pay for the shirts and get us tickets to the next
KISS show. I guess that would be the Farewell to Farewell tour or something, but whatever, that's cool.
I will keep you all posted on whether or not anything pans out or sues our insanely poor asses, but it was an interesting encounter at any rate.

January 22nd, 2004:
When we last spoke we mentioned we were trying out a new Whisky at practice. Well it worked fine and all
but we only jammed about 5 songs then commenced to throwing bottles and acting like jackasses. I guess we had some pent-up
feelings to get out and smashed against the wall. It happens every now and then. But for now I believe we are
sticking with Forty Creek and beer.
We are going to kinda be going underground for a while and not doing any live shows until our March 13 date at
the Stone Deaf Rock Fest out in Coppell with Yeti and Southern Gun Culture (and many others). We are trying to get some new songs
in the works and get them recorded and all. We are the most un-prolific band in the world so it's gonna take some time.
We'll still be out in our tin shack though. Stop on by and have a beer. And if you didn't get an official Me-Thinks button
just ask one of us for one...they're free.
|
|
January 9th, 2004:
About to head to the warehouse to do the first jam of ther year.
I have been sick since about New Year's so it's about time. I am
ready to swill some beers and we are testing out a new Whisky tonight (Tangle Ridge).
Normally we stick with our old Faithful Forty
Creek whisky, but this one was on sale tonight and we thought what the hell.
We were pretty excited when we found out we might be playing at
the Wreck Room with
our old pals from the Crescent City... Supagroup. We actaully jumped
at the chance to get on the bill. But it's not to be. There was a bit of a scheduling SNAFU
and they were actually booked two places at once. Maybe next time they come through Fort Worth.
I got so excited that I actually finished the flyer anyway, even though I found earlier today, that it wasn't going to happen.
Click HERE to check it out. Maybe we'll get to use it in the future.
We are also cooking up a possible Valentine's Day Massacre at the Wreck Room so stay tuned for more details as we get em.
Drink up...it's gonna be a long year!
